Zakat House Announces Zakat al-Fitr Donation Locations and Options

Kuwait City, Kuwait: The Kuwaiti Zakat House has released details regarding Zakat al-Fitr donations during the holy month of Ramadan.

To ensure a smooth donation process, the Zakat House will be accepting Zakat al-Fitr contributions in kind at 14 designated locations across the country. These designated centers will operate from the 25th to the 29th of Ramadan. During evening hours, specifically between 8:45 PM and 11:30 PM.

Dr. Majid Al-Azmi, Acting Director General of the Zakat House, highlighted the various options available: “We are committed to facilitating Zakat al-Fitr donations for all residents. This year, contributions in kind will be accepted at revenue centers near cooperative societies across numerous districts.” The press release further specifies the locations, including areas like Al-Khalidiyah and Salmiya.

The Sharia Committee of the Zakat House defines the required Zakat al-Fitr amount as the equivalent of a saa’ of rice, which translates to approximately 2.5 kilograms. Alternatively, the Sharia Board allows for a cash donation of one Kuwaiti dinar per person.

For residents opting for cash donations, the Zakat House offers a variety of convenient options. Cash contributions can be made in person at revenue centers. Also major shopping malls like Avenues Mall and 360 Mall, or even at Kuwait International Airport. Additionally, online and mobile app donations are available through the Zakat House website or partnered bank applications and ATMs.
