A dependable source within the security sector, quoted by Al-Jarida Daily, reported that the department, led by Assistant Undersecretary for Residency and Nationality Affairs Major General Ali Al-Adwani, processed over 1,200 transactions. This included prioritizing urgent requests such as residency renewals and status changes and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the process.

Deputy Director of the department, Colonel Adeeb Al-Suwaidan, implemented a plan to efficiently manage the influx of applications. This strategy involved categorizing transactions to expedite urgent cases. Clients received queue numbers after document verification at the department’s entrance, allowing those with pressing matters to complete their transactions within official working hours.

The department processed a variety of requests, including residency permit renewals for both individual and family applicants, visa issuance, status amendments, and information transfers. Urgent corporate transactions were received in the morning and completed by the close of business.

Post-Holiday Measures

The department advised clients with non-urgent matters to return after the Eid al-Fitr break. A limited number of business and family visit visa applications were processed due to the high volume on the last working day. All other visit visa applications were postponed until after the holiday.

The department will prioritize expats whose residency permits expired during the Eid al-Fitr holiday upon their return. This proactive approach aims to minimize disruption and ensure a smooth transition back to normal operations.
