Kuwaiti Delegation Shines at 1st GCC Games! Securing Five New Medals

Kuwait: The Kuwaiti national team solidified its position at the ongoing 1st Youth GCC Games in the UAE by capturing five additional medals on Friday, April 19th. This impressive showing across diverse events underscores the depth and talent within the Kuwaiti athletic contingent.

Leading the charge was Yasmine Walid, who cleared a commanding 1.60 meters in the high jump competition, securing the gold medal. Abdullah Al-Yalous replicated that feat on the track, triumphing in the 110-meter hurdles race. Fahid Hamada further bolstered Kuwait’s position by clinching gold in the grueling 3,000-meter event.

Adding to the momentum were Dina Rashid and Dalal Al-Azmi. Rashid dominated the 400-meter hurdles race, securing another gold medal for Kuwait. Al-Azmi, showcasing her strength in the hammer throw, delivered a commendable performance to secure a silver medal.

These latest victories significantly enhance Kuwait’s overall medal tally at the Games. The 210-member Kuwaiti delegation, comprised of both male and female athletes, is fiercely competing across a wide spectrum of 19 different sports.

The 1st Youth GCC Games, which commenced on April 16th, features over 3,500 athletes representing all GCC nations. This prestigious event fosters a platform for aspiring athletes to showcase their abilities and compete at a regional level. The Games are scheduled to culminate on May 2nd, with the promise of further triumphs for the Kuwaiti team and their fellow competitors, reported KUNA.
