Kuwait Expedites Building Permit Issuance for Private Housing
Kuwait City, Kuwait: In a significant move to enhance efficiency and support private construction, the Kuwait Municipality has implemented a revised timeframe for building permit issuance. Announced by Director General Engineer Saud Al-Dabbous, the new guidelines establish a one-day turnaround for obtaining building permits for private housing projects.

Previously, the building permit process for private residences could be lengthy. This reform signifies the Municipality’s commitment to streamlining procedures and expediting construction timelines. Permits for commercial, investment, and industrial properties will continue to require a review process, though the timeframe has been reduced to a maximum of three days.
Engineer Al-Dabbous’ announcement coincides with other initiatives aimed at improving municipal services. Shop license issuance times have also been optimized, ranging from two to five days based on location and intended use. Additionally, the processing of description certificates has been expedited.
These advancements reflect Kuwait’s ongoing efforts towards modernization and fostering a more efficient business environment. The newly established Kuwait Urban Observatory will further contribute to this initiative by collecting and analyzing vital urban development data, reported Arab Times.
