Kuwait: According to KUNA, Kuwait University held the inaugural marathon in Sabah Al-Salem University on Saturday morning, gathering a large number of participants from both inside and outside the university. According to Dr. Salem Al-Shammari, Acting Assistant Dean for Student Activities at Kuwait University, the goal of the event is to encourage athletic participation among students as well as instructors.

Al-Shammari praised the public’s and students’ enthusiastic involvement in the marathon and he added that the Deanship of Student Affairs is actively promoting sports and physical activities on campus, acknowledging their positive impact on creating a healthy environment. Nasser Al-Dhubaibi, director of sports activities at Kuwait University’s Deanship of Student Affairs stated that over 2,000 people from both inside and outside of Kuwait University participated in the marathon, which is being held for the first time in Sabah Al-Salem University. He mentioned that instructors, staff, students, and the general public were the key targets for participation in the five-kilometer marathon within the university.
