As per Al Jarida, Egyptian applicants seeking work in Kuwait’s private sector will need to undergo a medical test before arrival. The test results can reportedly be obtained using the applicant’s Egyptian national number.

This move signifies a positive development in relations between Kuwait and Egypt. The pause in work permit issuance had been in place for over a year. Authorities at both “Manpower” and “Residence Affairs” reportedly began accepting applications for Egyptian work permits a month ago. This move, following Article 17 of the Residency Law, signifies a potential increase in Egyptian professionals working in Kuwait’s private sector. It is expected to benefit both nations’ economies.
