Kuwait Confirms Participation in First Gulf Youth Games

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: The Kuwaiti Olympic Committee has announced the country’s participation in the inaugural Gulf Youth Games. It is set to take place in the United Arab Emirates from April 16th to May 2nd. This historic event will see 3,500 athletes from across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) compete in 25 individual and team sports.

Sheikh Fahad Nasser Al-Sabah, Chairman of the Kuwaiti Olympic Committee, emphasized the importance of the games in fostering sports cooperation among GCC member states. He praised the tournament’s motto, “Our Gulf is one and our youth are promising,”. Also expressed gratitude to the Kuwaiti leadership for their unwavering support in promoting sports development.

The Kuwaiti delegation will be led by Deputy Chairman Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. A strong contingent of 210 athletes will represent Kuwait in a wide range of sports. This including football, handball, volleyball, basketball, boxing, taekwondo, jujitsu, table tennis, fencing, karate, athletics, chess, swimming, badminton, triathlon, judo, golf, archery, and electronic games.

This participation in the Gulf Youth Games signifies Kuwait’s commitment to regional athletic cooperation and fostering the talents of its young athletes. The tournament promises to be an exciting display of athletic prowess and a celebration of regional unity.
