Kuwait to Boost Internet Connectivity with Three New Cables
Kuwait City, Kuwait: The Communications and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) of Kuwait has announced a significant upgrade to the country’s internet infrastructure. This initiative will see the installation of three new international internet cables, expanding Kuwait’s total connection to eight.

Currently, Kuwait leverages five international cables for internet access, providing a combined capacity of roughly 8,580 gigabits per second. These cables encompass both submarine and land-based connections.
The planned additions aim to strengthen Kuwait’s internet capabilities and solidify its strategic position as a vital internet gateway within the region. This expansion is anticipated to enhance overall internet speed, reliability, and data transmission efficiency for Kuwaiti citizens and businesses alike, reported Kuwait Local.
