Zurich, Switzerland: In a move signifying the growing influence of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region in international football, FIFA has awarded a total of ten Under-17 World Cups to Qatar and Morocco. These tournaments will be held annually starting in 2025, marking a significant shift from the previous schedule.

Qatar will be responsible for hosting five editions of the newly expanded 48-team men’s U-17 World Cup, taking place between 2025 and 2029. Morocco will take center stage for the women’s U-17 World Cup, hosting five editions of the 24-team tournament over the same period.

FIFA has emphasized leveraging existing infrastructure for these tournaments, promoting operational efficiency and environmental sustainability. This announcement signifies a new chapter for youth football development. The U-17 World Cups will provide a crucial platform for the next generation of football stars to showcase their talent on the global stage.
