North Al Sharqiyah province bore the brunt of the disaster. The Omani government deployed the Royal Oman Police and military personnel to conduct emergency evacuations from inundated areas.

Oman experiences frequent flash floods due to its arid climate. During heavy rainfall, dry riverbeds, locally referred to as wadis, can rapidly transform into raging torrents, posing a significant threat to life and property.

While Oman focuses on recovery efforts, neighboring Dubai anticipates potential downpours. The National Center of Meteorology issued a weather advisory predicting heavy rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and possible hail, accompanied by strong winds exceeding 70 kilometers per hour. As a precautionary measure, government schools in Dubai will shift to remote learning for the next two days.
