Despite the drop, Kuwait maintains a respectable position within their region, ranking sixth in the Gulf, 18th in the Arab world, and 25th in Asia. Their recent performance included losses against Qatar in the joint qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup.

Looking at the broader international stage, Argentina retains its top position in the global rankings, while Brazil has climbed to fifth. Other noteworthy changes include the United States, Colombia, and Mexico, who all secured a two-place improvement.

In related news, the Indian Football Association has reaffirmed its confidence in head coach Igor Stimac. The Indian national team is currently preparing for crucial matches in June against both Kuwait and Qatar, which will significantly impact their participation in the upcoming qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and 2027 Asian Cup. Aiming to bounce back from recent setbacks against Afghanistan, the Indian team faces a pivotal test against Kuwait on June 6th, reported Kuwait Local.
