The department specifically cautioned against interacting with individuals or companies advertising hourly domestic labor services on social media platforms like WhatsApp. These online offers, according to the statement, often serve as a front for elaborate scams designed to exploit unsuspecting victims.
“We urge the public to exercise vigilance when searching for domestic labor services online,” the statement emphasized. “Reputable companies, such as Al-Durah, do not utilize social media or WhatsApp for booking purposes.”
Authorities advise residents to seek domestic labor services through legitimate channels, such as licensed recruitment agencies. This ensures proper vetting procedures are followed, minimizing the risk of fraud and protecting both employers and employees.
Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior is alerting residents to online scams involving domestic labor services. Fraudsters are targeting people on social media, particularly WhatsApp, with offers of hourly help. Authorities warn that these platforms are not used by legitimate companies for bookings. To ensure safety and avoid scams, the Ministry advises residents to utilize licensed recruitment agencies for all domestic labor needs.
By following these guidelines, residents can safeguard themselves from falling prey to online fraudsters.
