The designated personnel have all surpassed the minimum service requirement of 34 years, encompassing both the 2023-2024 academic year and the current Gregorian calendar year. The MoE’s administrative department is currently finalizing the retirement procedures, which include securing necessary insurance approvals and verifying eligibility for retirement pensions.

Phased Approach to Ensure Smooth Transition

The MoE has compiled a comprehensive list of eligible candidates for retirement. The majority are Kuwaiti nationals who have met the service tenure criteria. This group comprises:

  • 156 teachers and supervisors
  • 11 administrative staff members

The list also includes four non-Kuwaiti resident teachers and administrators who will be retiring alongside their Kuwaiti counterparts.

To ensure a smooth transition within the educational system, the MoE proposes a phased approach to the retirement process. This plan involves stage-specific referrals for teachers, aiming for completion by the end of the current academic year. Administrative staff not directly involved in school operations are anticipated to retire by the close of 2024.
