MoE Extends Deadline for Uploading Certificates
Kuwait: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Education has granted a one-week extension for employees to upload their academic certificates beyond high school diplomas. This follows an initial deadline where 18,000 employees submitted their qualifications, but 19,000 have yet to do so. The Ministry warns of potential legal repercussions and withheld salaries for those who fail to comply during the grace period. Additionally, certificate authenticity will be verified with the Ministry of Higher Education.

In a separate development, the Ministry reversed its previous policy prohibiting teachers and administrative staff from remaining in schools after hours. Acting Assistant Undersecretary Hessa Al-Mutawa acknowledged concerns raised by the Kuwait Teachers Society and issued a letter allowing staff to stay based on “genuine need” and with prior approval. Chairman Hamad Al-Houlim welcomed the swift response, clarifying that tasks like exams and grading fall under such needs, reported Al Jarida daily.
