Minister Orders Detentions After Devastating Mangaf Fire
Kuwait City, Kuwait: Kuwait’s Interior Minister cracks down following a deadly fire in Mangaf. Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, who also holds the Defense and First Deputy Prime Minister positions, ordered the detention of individuals linked to the burned building and the labor company that housed its occupants.

The fire, attributed to overcrowding and potential negligence, claimed numerous lives. Al-Yousef emphasized the seriousness of the incident, vowing to hold those responsible accountable. He also launched a campaign against building code violations, demanding immediate rectification and threatening swift action against non-compliant property owners.
The Minister’s response extends beyond detentions. He announced initiatives by the Public Authority for Manpower to address worker overcrowding and ensure proper labor regulations are followed. Additionally, he visited injured victims at Al-Adan Hospital, underscoring the ongoing efforts to address the tragedy’s aftermath.
