The fire reportedly began in the security guard’s room and quickly spread to a rest area, a storeroom containing gas cylinders, and ultimately engulfed the entire seven-story building.

Hospitals across the country mobilized to receive the injured, with Al-Adan Hospital treating the majority of cases (21). The Ministry of Health assures the public that medical teams are providing intensive care and support to all affected individuals.

Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. Initial reports suggest the building may have been overcrowded, potentially exceeding the legal capacity.

First Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef expressed his condolences and vowed to hold those responsible accountable. He has ordered the immediate detention of the company owner, building owner, and security guard while investigations proceed.

This tragedy serves as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety regulations and proper building inspections, reported Al Jarida daily.
