The proposal comes in response to concerns raised by citizens about the lack of prayer facilities along highways. Al-Jadaan stated, “Many travelers, both Kuwaiti and non-Kuwaiti, struggle to find a place for prayer. They sometimes have to walk long distances or pray by the roadside. This proposal aims to address this need and provide a convenient service for them.”

The plan includes allocating space for prayer halls during the design and approval process for new highway gas stations. Existing stations may also be evaluated for the feasibility of incorporating prayer facilities.

The proposal has yet to be voted on by the Municipal Council, but it highlights a growing focus on providing amenities for religious travelers in Kuwait, reported Arab Times.
