The decision, based on Article 21 bis A of Emiri Decree No. 15 of 1959 regarding Kuwaiti Nationality Law, alleges the citizenship was granted “unlawfully based on fraud, false statements, or incorrect certificates.”

The specific details of the alleged fraud or misrepresentation haven’t been made public. Kuwaiti law grants the government broad authority to revoke citizenship under certain circumstances, including national security concerns or if it’s determined the citizenship was obtained fraudulently.

This move comes amidst ongoing discussions in Kuwait regarding the enforcement of citizenship regulations, reported Al Rai daily.
