Kuwait to Ban Outdoor Work During Summer
Kuwait City, Kuwait: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait is enforcing a ban on outdoor work during the hottest part of the day. Starting in early June and lasting through August. The Administrative Resolution No. 535/2015 will prohibit employers from requiring workers to be in open areas between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm.

The PAM will be conducting inspections over the three-month period to ensure compliance. Business owners who violate the order can face fines between 100 and 200 Kuwaiti dinars per worker and a potential freeze on their company file.
The purpose of the ban is to protect workers from the harsh summer sun and heat. The PAM emphasized that the goal is to regulate work hours, not reduce them, and to ensure ongoing projects are not impacted.
This decision aligns with international labor standards and has been well-received by businesses in past years, reported Al Jarida daily.
