Kuwait City, Kuwait: Women in Kuwait now have a more convenient way to schedule mammograms for early breast cancer detection. The Ministry of Health announced the addition of a new service to the government’s unified application, Sahel.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the Ministry’s official spokesman, highlighted this initiative as part of their ongoing digital transformation efforts to improve healthcare access for citizens. The new feature aligns with the national program for early detection of breast cancer, offering high-quality screening services.

“This service aims to encourage regular screenings by simplifying the mammogram appointment booking process,” Dr. Al-Sanad explained in a press release. “Sahel users can now select their preferred date and healthcare center directly through the app.”

Currently, the program targets Kuwaiti women aged 40 and above. The Ministry has designated five primary healthcare centers across various districts to facilitate appointments:

• Al-Egaila Health Center (Ahmadi)
• Al-Zahra Health Center (Mubarak Al-Kabeer)
• Al-Naeem Health Center (Jahra)
• Khaitan South Health Center (Farwaniya)
• Shaikhan Al-Farsi and Sharifa Al-Awadi Health Center (Al-Surrah)

Dr. Al-Sanad emphasized the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector’s digital capabilities. This initiative aligns with the goals of the Ministry’s plan and Kuwait’s national vision, “New Kuwait 2035.” He commended the dedication of both digital health sector workers and medical professionals for their ongoing efforts to elevate the quality of healthcare services in Kuwait.
