Following recommendations from the Drug Pricing Committee, the Ministry, led by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Wahab Al-Awadi, issued a ministerial decision outlining a revised pricing structure for medicines and pharmaceutical preparations.

This update includes the approval of prices for 228 new medicines and adjustments to the pricing of 10 existing ones. The revisions will be incorporated into Ministerial Resolution No. 74 of 2023.

The Ministry emphasizes this decision aligns with their commitment to public health and affordability of medication. It’s part of their ongoing efforts to periodically review drug prices and achieve cost reductions. These efforts follow the guidance of the Ministerial Committee on the Pricing of Medicines and Nutritional Supplements, established in 2018.
