Previously, companies were categorized into three groups with varying quotas for work permits. The first group received permits for 100% of their workforce needs, the second for 50%, and the third for just 25%. Under the new policy, all companies can now hire foreign workers to meet their estimated labor requirements.
The issuance fee for a work permit remains at KD 150 (approximately USD 490). This change is expected to streamline the hiring process for businesses and potentially boost economic activity in Kuwait.
