BRT utilizes dedicated lanes for buses, allowing them to bypass regular traffic and reach destinations faster. This not only benefits commuters by reducing travel times but also improves overall traffic flow in the city.
Al-Shalfan emphasized the need for a well-developed public transportation network, highlighting that previous studies exploring various options, including BRT, haven’t been implemented.
Her proposal aligns with the government’s focus on improving public transportation, potentially serving as a feeder system for the planned railway project.
This proposal is currently under review by the relevant authorities, and a decision is expected soon. If approved, the BRT system could be a significant step towards a more efficient and less congested transportation landscape in Kuwait City.
