In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that mosques are sacred spaces designated for worship, not for promoting or selling commercial products. The Ministry specifically condemned the display of goods by perfume vendors at Masjidul Kabir and the photographing of such activity for social media.

The Ministry’s ruling prohibits all forms of commercial advertising and promotion within mosques, including:

  • Displaying merchandise or product booths
  • Placing billboards inside or outside mosques
  • Photographing commercial activity for social media purposes

The Ministry has warned of “strict action” against those who violate the ban.
