KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: In a move to combat the spread of rumors and false information, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information issued a stern warning on Friday. The Ministry urged citizens to rely on official sources for news and cautioned media outlets against disseminating inaccurate information.

Lafi Al-Subaie, the Assistant Undersecretary for Press at the Ministry, emphasized the importance of media professionalism and responsible reporting. He highlighted the potential legal repercussions for outlets that spread misinformation, including referral to the Media Violations Committee.

Al-Subaie stressed the collective responsibility to ensure the accuracy of information shared through all media channels, including visual, print, and electronic platforms. The Ministry’s stance signifies a stricter approach towards curbing the spread of misinformation and promoting reliable sources of news.
