Eid Al-Adha confirmed for June 16th
Kuwait City, Kuwait: Eid Al-Adha, the Islamic holiday known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” will begin on Sunday, June 16th, according to an announcement from Saudi Arabia. The sighting of the crescent moon for Dhul-Hijjah, the Islamic month in which Eid Al-Adha falls, was confirmed on Thursday, June 6th.

This means that Friday, June 14th, will mark the first day of Dhul-Hijjah. The Day of Arafah is a significant day for Hajj pilgrims. Also a day of prayer and fasting for Muslims around the world, will be observed on Saturday, June 15th.
