This year’s Eid al-Adha holiday in Kuwait promises a minimum of four days of celebration, with festivities kicking off on June 16th if the Arafat Standing falls on the preceding Saturday, June 15th. Work would then resume on June 19th. However, the holiday could potentially stretch to nine days! If Arafat Standing is observed on June 16th itself (a Sunday), the following Thursday, June 20th, would be declared a public holiday due to its position between two official holidays. This scenario would extend the joyous Eid break for Kuwaiti public sector employees, with their return to work scheduled for June 23rd.
The Civil Service Commission (CSC) will announce the official holiday schedule in advance. Employees can request leave for June 19 and 20 to extend the four-day break. Missing work on these days without approved leave will result in it being counted as regular absence, reported Al Anba daily.
