Double Drivers for Trucks: Kuwait Cuts Costs
Kuwait City, Kuwait: In a move welcomed by businesses, the Public Authority of Manpower (PAM) has introduced a new regulation allowing companies and institutions to register two drivers for a single heavy vehicle. This applies to trucks, half-lorries, and similar large vehicles, excluding private cars.

PAM aims to address employer concerns about high driver salaries for these vehicles. The authority emphasizes that companies must still adhere to the employee quotas set by PAM.
To prevent misuse, PAM will closely monitor the Labor Estimation Department in the coming period. This ensures employers don’t manipulate the system to circumvent hiring regulations.
This change is expected to ease the burden on companies in the transportation sector, reported Arab Times.
