The Consumer Protection Development Committee, formed by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, is leading the initiative. The committee aims to achieve economic, environmental, and social benefits through the campaign.

Campaign Goals:

  • Reduce the cost of government subsidies: By encouraging citizens to consume only what they need, the government hopes to lower its spending on subsidies.
  • Promote responsible consumption: The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of conserving resources and reducing waste.
  • Achieve social and environmental benefits: Reducing waste can have positive social and environmental impacts.

Several government ministries will participate in the campaign, including the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Information, Ministry of Health, and Ministry of Social Affairs. This collaborative effort ensures a comprehensive approach to educating the public.

This campaign comes amid rising government expenditures on subsidies in Kuwait. With responsible consumption practices, the government hopes to optimize its resources and achieve long-term financial stability, reported Arab Times.
