Previously, Lens analyzed photos on-the-fly and then discarded them. Now, with the upcoming update, users can choose to automatically save captured images within the Google app. This means you can revisit that mysterious object you spotted or that must-have furniture piece you saw in a store window.
This feature is especially helpful for those who often use Lens for research, identification, or inspiration. Saved searches are currently limited to Lens usage within the Google app itself, not through integrations like Google Photos.
While the feature is rolling out gradually, you can check if it’s available for you by visiting your Google Account settings. Once enabled, you can access your saved searches and even download captured images for later use. Google plans to use this data to personalize your experience and further develop its visual search technology. So next time you use Lens, remember, it might just be learning from your past searches!
