Expat Nurses Key to Kuwait’s Healthcare Future, Ministry Prioritizes Training

Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, emphasized the government’s dedication to investing in nurses through ongoing training and development programs.

“The nursing profession is vital to a robust and high-quality healthcare system,” said Dr. Al-Mutairi. He acknowledged the critical role nurses play in patient care and safety.

Dr. Iman Al-Awadhi, Director of the Nursing Services Department, echoed Dr. Al-Mutairi’s sentiments. She highlighted the theme of this year’s International Nurses Day, “Our nurses…our future, the economic power of care,” which emphasizes the importance of investing in nurses’ skills.

Kuwait’s Ministry of Health currently employs over 22,000 nurses and is committed to addressing the global nursing shortage. The Ministry has partnered with international institutions to provide specialized training courses and equip nurses with the latest healthcare knowledge and skills, reported Al Jarida daily.
