Kuwaiti Travelers Rejoice: Progress Made on Schengen Visa Exemption or Long-Term Option

Kuwait: Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya announced positive developments regarding the Schengen visa for Kuwaiti citizens. There are two potential solutions being explored. One option is a complete visa exemption, allowing Kuwaitis to travel freely within the Schengen zone. The other possibility is a long-term visa similar to the arrangement with the UK. This would involve a five-year online application process.

In other foreign affairs news, the Minister announced that all vacant positions within Kuwaiti embassies have been filled. He elaborated on plans to improve the appointment process based on criteria set by the Council of Ministers. Looking ahead, Minister Al-Yahya anticipates a busy year for Kuwaiti foreign affairs. Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Ramadan, and regional issues remain a priority. He expressed optimism that these developments will ultimately benefit the Kuwaiti people.
