Kuwait: Kuwait’s Ministry of Interior is urging citizens and residents to register their fingerprints in a central database by June 1st. This mandatory process is part of a wider Gulf-wide effort to strengthen regional security.

All individuals aged 18 and above are required to undergo fingerprinting. The MoI strongly encourages all eligible individuals to complete the fingerprinting process by the deadline. Failure to comply may result in the suspension of transactions with the Ministry of Interior, impacting essential services such as visa renewals and driver’s license applications. The MoI recommends utilizing the designated mobile application or visiting authorized centers to expedite the registration process.

The new database aims to improve security cooperation on multiple fronts. It will facilitate information sharing with Interpol, Arab nations, and particularly Gulf countries. This will be crucial for tracking individuals wanted by security forces or involved in legal cases. Additionally, the database will help identify those attempting to enter the country using forged passports.

Dual nationality is another key concern that the fingerprinting initiative addresses. The ability to hold multiple identities can be exploited by individuals seeking to bypass security measures. The new system will make it easier to identify such individuals and prevent them from traveling between countries undetected.
