Travel Dreams Take Flight: 5-Year Multiple-Entry Schengen Visas Now Available from Bulgaria

Kuwait City, Kuwait: Kuwaiti citizens can now breathe a sigh of relief when it comes to travel to Europe. Bulgaria’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dimitar Dimitrov, announced that starting March 31, 2024, the Bulgarian embassy will begin issuing 5-year, multiple-entry Schengen visas to Kuwaitis.

Previously, the embassy issued only Bulgarian national visas. This new development grants Kuwaitis access to all Schengen zone countries, not just Bulgaria, for stays of up to 90 days within a six-month period. There’s a caveat, however. The visa validity cannot exceed the passport validity. So, a five-year visa requires a passport valid for at least five years.

The embassy emphasizes that the standard Schengen visa requirements apply, with a processing time of 15 days in most cases. Applicants are encouraged to submit applications well in advance of their travel date, allowing for any necessary communication with other Schengen countries. Applications are accepted directly at the embassy’s consular section in Jabriya and not through external offices.

Ambassador Dimitrov also highlighted the upcoming summer tourism season in Bulgaria. Direct flights from Kuwait to Burgas and Varna on the Black Sea will be available, along with other tourist services catered towards Kuwaiti travelers. This is a boon for Kuwaiti globetrotters, offering them greater flexibility and ease of travel throughout Europe, reported Kuwait Local.
